Ekei Ankokuji, was a monk and also acted as a diplomat for the Mori clan. He was promoted to daimyo and reported to Hideyoshi.
He succeeded in making Terumoto MORI the commander in chief of the WESTERN ARMY. At the battle of Sekigahara Ekei Ankokuji, Hidemoto Mori, Hiroie Kikkawa and others joined the WESTERN ARMY. The moment they saw the beacon they sent an express messenger to Hidemoto Mori, and urged him to join the army, but Mori’s forces could not move.
Ekei Ankouji doubted Terumoto Mori, therefore he didn’t move his forces. After the battle he fled back to Kyo but was captured and later beheaded at Rokujo-Gawara in Kyoto.
