Naoyasu Akaza, Suketada Ogawa and Mototsuna Kutsuki took up their positions at the northern foot of Mt.Matsuo.
They predicted Hideaki’s betrayal and had prepared a battle line to confront the Todo and Kyogoku allied forces. They had at first joined the WESTERN ARMY following Yoshitsugu Otani, but later Yasuharu switched to the EASTERN ARMY along with Mototsuna Kutsuki, Suketada Ogawa and Naoyasu Akaza coinciding with Hideaki Kobayakawa.
